Steamed Ginger Pork Dumplings

olive oil

1 tbs minced garlic

egg-roll wrappers or dumpling wrappers

2 tbs sesame seeds

1 egg (beaten)

Dipping Sauce:

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tsp Garlic Chili Sauce

In a cast iron skillet over medium heat, cook your pork until cooked all the way through, remove and set aside. Pour olive oil into skillet with the ginger and garlic. Pour the cabbage mixture into a mixing bowl with the pork and stir all together.

Beat an egg into a small mixing bowl and set aside. Lay out your dumpling wrapper, add about a tbs of the pork mixture to the middle of the dumpling. using your fingers, dip into the egg, and rub across all of the edges of the dumpling. Fold in and press all sides together, while also pinching and bunching. 🥟

I feel like my explanation of the shaping of the dumpling sucks haha so here is a YouTube video! Yes, I know the video says potstickers, but this is how I shape my dumplings.

After you have shaped all of your dumplings, add a cup of water into an empty skillet and heat until it has started to boil. Add a metal rack into the water in the skillet. Add the dumplings onto the rack and cover with a lid You can also use a bamboo steamers or follow this video I have attached. Here are different ways to steam.

Steam for about 7 minutes. Repeat until you have steamed all of your dumplings. Remove and dip in sesame seeds, covering the bottom of the dumpling. In a small bowl pour in 1/4 cup soy sauce and 1 tsp of chili garlic sauce. Mix well, dip your steamed dumpling and enjoy!
