August Favorite Things 1. Gardenias: I am going to do a favorite flower, plant every month. I have these planted in a small garden outside my courtyard area and they are beautiful. They are small now but they give off and amazing scent. The dainty white flowers give a perfect picturesque look against brick or a stained fence. It is the perfect blend of a Petite Sirah, Syrah and Grenache. We fell in love at the first sip. Every steak house after that we asked but they didn’t have it. I was cruising through the wine aisle at Albertsons the other day, and guess what, they had it! I was shook. Anyways, this is not an every day wine, because of the cost but it is definetly something you should try for a special occasion. It pairs perfect with a Butter Than The Rest pan seared filet. Smells like a mixture of Kacey Musgraves musk (or what I can only imagine it smells like), a hot ass boy, a hug from Tom Ford and Gigi Hadid’s bedsheets. But honestly, did you expect anything less from the honky tonk queen herself? She’s a bad bitch, who made a badass candle. You need to purchase it right now, before it sells out again. Buy Here4. Wusthof Classic 7” Hollow Edge Santoku Knife: When we purchased our new home, I decided I needed new knives to go with my new kitchen. I cook every day so I couldn’t afford to have some shitty ass knives. I went to Crate and Barrel and got the spill on all the essential knives I needed in my collection. I got 5 of them but this one is my favorite. It is PERFECT for cutting and chopping vegetables. I love how it rocks back and forth while chopping. A lot of times they are having sales so that is the best time to buy these since they re pretty pricey. Buy Here5. Le Creuset, Heritage Rectangular Casserole: This is something I use at least 3x a week, it is a staple kitchen item. The color is called Meringue, it looks beautiful on a dinner table for a family style meal and will make you look like the Desperate Housewife you always dreamed to be. Buy Here6. Garden Glory, White Snake Garden Hose: This beautiful piece of art is not your typical garden hose. I know I know, spending $99 dollars on a garden hose seems absurd but when you see how awesome it is you will change your mind. This company makes custom hoses, nozzles, wall mounts, watering cans and and I kid you not, gold garden gloves. One day I am going to own all of their stuff but for now, just the hose will do. It comes in multiple colors but I like the white because it goes with the new paint job in our back yard. Buy Here7. This is my favorite recipe that I have made lately. The vodka sauce is a GAME CHANGER. The cheese and sauce gets caught in the large rigatoni noodles and makes cheesy bombs of heaven in every bite. Make it and be happy. Rigatoni Vodka Sauce8. John Derian, Picture Book: I was browsing a tiny book store in Jackson Hole, WY and came across this book. I flipped through the pages and was immediately drawn in. It is a transportation into a time when things were simple, unlike today. The colors, the antique realness painted across every page made me want to cry. It was absolutely breathtaking. I didn’t buy it right away, because it was heavy and I had already packed my suit case for the flight home. I popped on amazon and ordered it right away, it was delivered in 2 days. It is now my inspiration for my interiors, my cooking, my aesthetic. Buy Here9. Supergoop, Glow Screen: Now that I am an old bag, I gotta wear sunscreen everyday. I should have been doing it since I was 20 but I like to live life on the edge, aka get sun spots and cancer, I guess. This sunscreen has a shimmer in it and it looks awesome by itself or under your foundation. Buy Here10. Parachute, Cloud Cotton Robe: I’m always looking for the perfect robe. Every time I buy one its either too warm ( it looks comfy cause its soft but makes me sweat) or is a silky one I think is pretty but also sticks to me and makes me cold. This one is the perfect medium, like when you stick one leg out of the covers and one under the covers. It’s amazing. And the colors are freaking awesome too, the color I purchased was Amber. It is made in California with Heirloom olives and harvested in an organic mill. It is good on its own or mixed with cheeses and spices. I bought the gold spout to go along with it and I LOVE it.Buy Here Katy DavisonAugust 6, 2020Comment 0 Likes
