Coconut Heath Oatmeal Bars

I burned myself multiple times trying to eat these before they cooled….I have zero taste buds anymore but damn was it worth it.

Crust:

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup old-fashioned oats

2 cups shredded unsweetened coconut

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 cup butter softened

1 egg lightly beaten

Lindt chocolate bars (rough chopped)

Filling:

14 oz sweetened condensed milk

Dark Corn Syrup

Heath Bar bits

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Whisk together flour, oats, coconut, salt, cinnamon and brown sugar in a large bowl of electric mixer and mix at low speed. Beat in butter and continue mixing until a crumbly dough forms. Add egg and continue mixing well. Stir in chocolate chunks. Set aside 1-1/2 cups of dough for topping. Press remaining dough into bottom of parchment lined square pan. Bake 10 minutes.

Mix together sweetened condensed milk and corn syrup in a small bowl and mix until combined. Pour over hot crust. Sprinkle with toffee bits. Top with the remaining crust. Bake 35 minutes until golden brown. LET COOL before cutting into bars.
